Hay Storage Shed

Wallandra was commissioned to provide a complete Design and Construct (D&C) Building Solution for the development of this hay shed, situated in Orton Park, NSW. This included the submission of paperwork for the Development Application (DA) and Construction Certificate (CC), structural engineering, supply and erection of structural steel, roofing, cladding and project management.

The hay shed has been designed and constructed to provide the best possible storage solution for hay dry matter retention following harvest. The incorporation of gutters, sufficient drainage and 3 walls provides maximum protection from the rain and pooling water. The 8m wide bays also allow for multi-purpose usage; providing the ability for our client to store machinery and other equipment when the shed is not being used for hay storage.

Realta making vehicle distribution a reality

• 145 Tonnes of Structural steel
• 8000m2 steel cladding
• 1000m2 precast concrete walls
• Construction continues

Realta Enterprises is a Wollongong based Property Development and Construction company undertaking the large project to build the new vehicle distribution centre in Kembla Grange. This will be the first destination of new cars shipped in for processing and delivery across the country.

Before the construction even started the site needed a great deal of attention.

The construction site was previously a farm in a flood affected area. In order to build up the site it required 1.6 million tonnes of coal wash. As the construction continues there is still 6000 tonnes delivered daily.

Once site preparation was complete Wallandra worked with engineer Ivo Olbrecht of OPTIMA CONSULTING ENGINEERS. The impressive project required 145 tonnes of structural steel delivered and installed.

To clad this structure 8000m2 of Trimdek made form COLORBOND steel has been installed along with 1000m2 of pre-cast walling for the office area, parts warehouse and dado panels.

Work continues! Whilst Wallandra is renowned for its expertise in the supply and erection of structural steel, this project has a more comprehensive scope with Wallandra taking this large building to lock up stage.

The structural steel went up in 3 weeks, the cladding is almost complete and the concrete team has begun pouring the 7100m2 floor. Following behind them, the door team will begin installing over 20 roller shutters and 10 PA doors.

Stay tuned to see the progress of this project.

HYROCK – Copper Concentrate Store

A new facility at Port Kembla for the storage of copper concentrate prior to export, required a heavy steel roof to tie the thick concrete walls together. Wallandra is ideally equipped to fabricate the massive structure, and our experienced project management and erection teams made the on-site work look easy!

Highway Signage Structures

The strict quality procedures required for road-side structures mean that this is not for the inexperienced or faint hearted. Wallandra’s Quality Assurance program ensures that these large structures are produced to exacting standards.

Multipurpose shearing shed

Cleverly designed, this shed and covered yards complex makes for efficient processing of sheep at shearing time and doubles as equipment storage while not being used as a shearing shed. The owner appreciated Wallandra’s ability to interpret his requirements accurately and incorporate all the features he needed into his building without being limited to an off-the-shelf design.

Wallandra’s scope included design and construction of footings, structure, precast walls, plus roof and roof plumbing, providing a complete building envelope.

Borg Manufacturing

The high volume of manufactured board products that Borg Manufacturing produce every day, requires efficient storage and inventory flows, with erection of new buildings in the shortest possible time-frame a must. Expertise in large clear span buildings and high volume steel processing capabilities made Wallandra the perfect choice for this 850 tonne, 25,000 square metre project featuring multiple overhead cranes up to 50t capacity.
